Mosquito trap (it works!)

I know…summer is nearly over but we still suffer from mosquito. This takes 2 mn to do and from last night’s experience, it really works! (The idea came from a video I saw on a blogger’s post…http://huffygirl.wordpress.com/.)
The next video is heavy duty and expensive but it’s only for those who suffer from huge quantities of mosquito as Florida (which I was unaware of) I posted it just in case someone is in that position.
Let me know if you got as good results as I had with the first one!
Have a lovely weekend 🙂

Precise recipe.
200 ml water
75 gr sugar
1 tablespoon dried yeast

DIY MOSQUITO TRAP pesticide FREE mosquito control Solar Powered Fan West Nile Virus

Uploaded on Apr 20, 2011
This mosquito trap can kill thousands of mosquitos over a few day period.
http://greenpowerscience.com/
Using a Maxx Air Flow fan 24″, the Orange one from The Home Depot $99 (EXCELLENT FANS) You can clean an area in a few nights breaking an uncontrolled population cycle. This option requires 250 watts of electricity but does not require any pesticides. The screens serve a dual purpose, they also collect dust and fine particulates and eventually form a mat of air junk. The screen provides an easy cleaning option and prevents dire from entering the bearings of the induction motor. The solar option uses a 27 watt blower fan and works great for pigeon and chicken coops, animal kennels and outdoor porches.

Place the fans near infested or high traffic areas. KEEP FANS DRY, no rain. Always Unplug when servicing screens or moving. Place the inlet side towards people or animals so you suck the mosquitos away. This also sucks in carbon dioxide creating an attraction trail for the mosquitos to follow sticking them to the back of the fan:-)

I have a few more options in the works:

WATER COLLECTION NESTS
By placing leaves and yard debris in the bottom of a container and filling it with water, the leaves decompose and provide an attractive spot for mosquitos to place their larvae. Once visible, you MUST collect the larvae with a fine fish net and dry them in the sun. This option prevent mosquitos from nesting in ditches and other areas where you cannot stop the cycle. YOU MUST clean daily or you create a mosquito farm.

BATS:

I have a DIY VIDEO on how to build a bat house and tips on getting bats to hang out:-)

A memorable day in Relaxing sea wave sounds #2

This time I managed this video on my own about 95 %! It’s the sea as it was today, windy, cloudy and sunny. I hope you like the music choice. It’s less shaky this time round but I still could use a tripod (it’s on my list).
Enjoy it and let me know if you have any suggestions for further improvement… there’s always room for that!
Thanks to all for your constant support, it’s thoroughly appreciated 🙂

This is my second video on You tube. I’ve tried to make some improvements and hope you’ll enjoy the relaxing sounds of the waves accompanied by music. Positive feedback is always welcome!

Everywhere accompanying our very step (trees 3)
———————————————

They are everywhere
Grazing the foot of mountains
Bordering a lake, brushing rooftops,
Designing a niche for a lone abode,
Parading on the Champs-Elysées
Or encircling protectively the Eiffel Tower
Harboring those who hurry home from a
Somber season or guarding the slanting
Façade of a historical house.

They are just everywhere
Accompanying our very step…
Around the globe, we swirl and detect
Leaves ablaze with sun’s warm reflection
Or a trunk soaked by forests flavors
After a sudden gush…
Nourishing and being nourished
By earth’s plentiful.

Indelible hole
Irreplaceable void
Lassitude and
Despair.

Impossible
To share
He monologues
Relentlessly

The same
Refrain
Gripping
This trough

The void
Resented.
He shouts
And screams

Silently.
Appealing
Petitioning
For a truce

Reconciliation
To his page
The ink
Ingested

Words devoured
Ingurgitated
By the secrecy
Taciturnity

Of his folio
Yet faithful
As a blotter
Absorbing

His pain
Tears
Anguish
Inhabiting his

Wanting
To notice
Dewdrops

Snowflakes
Perfume of
A flower tree.
Rainbows

The miracle

In a last attempt
To capture

The truth

The one he can
Put on his

In the act of writing March 2011

This essay was one of my assignments and was written in a tongue-in-cheek manner,
I do not take myself that seriously 🙂 It was about describing oneself in the act
of writing, which I called just that…

In the act of writing
—————–

I usually prepare an assignment long in advance.
Plotting, collecting information, mincing, digesting the style that is about to be born.
Yet, today, I come as ludicrously bare as can be.
I stare at a white immaculate sheet of paper and ponder at the outrageous idea of writing, as a working exercise, as opposed to a burst of fervid passion.
Or, to the growth of my imagination spilling forth in an overflow.
I am surrounded by dictionaries and thesauruses of all kind that, I trust, will unravel the mysteries of words and impel me to the creation of a literary magnificence.
Gilded rays of a timid autumn sun pierce through the remote glass window door, of the balcony, maintaining this room in perpetual darkness, keeping its occupants in sempiternal slumber throughout the seasons of the years.
Nevertheless, I find my mind juggling with phraseology, feeling like a choreographer bearing the conception of a chef-d’oeuvre.
I amalgate ideas, terms, observations and philosophies, in anticipation of a new era…
The creation of my magnum opus.
Hours slide by, in the stimulating atmosphere of reflection and contemplation and I see, merging from the profundity and intricacies of my brain, the outlines of what seems the sketches of an essay.
The gratification of my labor.
I hold dearly unto my chain of thoughts hushing anyone daring any resemblance of vicinity.
I toil away, inching my way through the haze and vasty of language, aware of a day coming to its end, as the sun retrieves its warmth, preparing itself to enlighten another part of the planet’s obscurities.
I close the chapter at its culmination, satisfied by the denouement, at peace by its genesis and in synchronization with the heartbeats of the universe.
I look around and become aware, au fait of stepping out of a different dimension.

All is still.

Everyone having left me to my occupations and busy with theirs, outdoors.
I am surprised to observe the constant rebirth of my soul at the completion of what I fantasize, is

the emergence of my prodigy 🙂

the cove full documentary ( following of painting )

Having shown my painting to a close one, I was suggested to
see the film, I had not known, existed which, I am now posting to you.

This documentary is brilliant, fascinating and grabs your attention from
the word go.

It has no political intentions, just the love for animals, mammals… on this planet.

This blog is a neutral one. It is my haven of peace and I intend to keep it that way 🙂
