Turbulences soon coming up in bigger version… & opening of new online shop at Saatchi Art

Turbulences

Proudly presenting…
Turbulences. 30/30cm 3.1/2 cm deep.
Forces of nature always fascinated me, tornadoes are one of them.
A demonstration of raw power par excellence.
Having said that I’d rather stick to my canvas than approaching one of them.

Please scroll down for close ups…
Notice the movement & metallic colors used to convey the electrifying energy emanating from
a stormy atmosphere.
Extra strong gel medium was used to produce the relief.

Having had a good feedback on this small version, my next project will be a much bigger one…

Thank you all so much for your continual support.
Your visits, likes & comments are most valuable to me!

I want to take this opportunity to announce the opening of my new online shop on Saatchi Art (I encountered too many technical difficulties on Etsy when they lately changed their rules)
Will keep you updated as soon as I have the time to feed my account with photos of my painting collections.

Nature is perfect, it is wise, serene
It brings out the best in us, it gives
Us hope and strength to strive for more
To want to emanate its pulchritude…

Wishing all of you a very good weekend!

This is the end result of the photo below but I’ll give you the stages in two more photos and a little something to accompany it.

Wind blowing through the dunes
Disturbing the peace of winter’s
Settled sand combing the weeds
Sleek to its desire inviting the
Lovers of a wild coast at its best

P.s My apologies to all my followers for not getting back this week as quickly as planned with the restoration of my photos but I hope Thursday will be a relatively calmer day to work hard at it…
Thank you for being patient 🙂

Biggest Teahupoo Ever, Shot on the PHANTOM CAMERA. [Original 720p video]

This is a continuation of last post. It is all I have said on a much grander scale. Not in the philosophical sense but in the magnitude of the waves and the sheer force of nature and water.
It’s raw, hazardous and perilous but somehow makes it all the more fascinating and bigger than life. I see art and beauty in every detail of this slow motion video.
I wish you to love it as much (at least!) as I did 🙂
My following video is the whole-story of this one, enjoy it too!

“Code Red” Full Movie – Surfing Goes Huge At Teahupoo Tahiti

Published on Apr 25, 2012
On August 27, 2011, the Billabong Pro Tahiti event on surfing’s World Tour was placed on hold due to a massive swell bearing down on the famed big-wave spot, Teahupoo. With forecasts calling for unprecedented surf, some of the greatest surfers in the world descended on the island to be in the water, despite a “Code Red” called by the Tahitian Coast Guard, which sought to keep everyone on shore. See the historic day through the eyes of two surfers — the young gun Laurie Towner and the veteran Dylan Longbottom — as they catch some of the biggest, most dangerous surf ever recorded, much of it captured with the super slow motion Phantom Camera for never-before-seen imagery.

Peaking: A Big Wave Surfer’s Perspective – Carlos Burle – Part (2/6)

I loved the way this surfer philosophizes and describes his life, passion and fears. It is deep and meaningful. The waves and scenery are spectacular, the colors and movement couldn’t be captured on canvas as it’s forever changing… every split of a second… the essence of its beauty is the constant change through motion.
Enjoy it!

(2 Hour Nature Relaxation Video) A Day in Big Sur, California 1080p Relaxation Video Pure Nature

A quick post I could not resist of a video I just found, on mesmerizing sea waves in a spectacular nature spot this time, in California. (The last one was in the Carribeans)
It is one of the rare places of untouched and totally wild nature we have today… a pleasure to the eye.
I love the idea of being able to visit the world from our own home and be lulled into a state of blissful stupor 🙂

Enjoy it and take the time to indulge when things get too much for you or even when it doesn’t…. just for the fun of pampering yourself!

Those Relaxing Sounds of Waves, Tropical Beaches with Ocean Sounds, 1080p HD Video

Of all the videos I used when working on the laptop, studying, writing or simply in need of a holiday at home, this one is at the top of my list in quality.
The scenery changes fast enough so as not to be bored and are long enough to put you in deep relaxation if you watch it constantly.
At the end of the hour with the video finishing off with a sunset, you feel as loose and lazy as at the end of a full day on the beach.

I hope you’ll enjoy it and let me know the effect it had on you.

These photos and poem were inspired by the blogger Junsjazz Images & Inspiration who always has great advice on photography.
I had fun playing around plain tools as a fennel for a tunnel vision and a sifter for a vintage effect. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

The wig of a scarecrow

Call an onion by its name
And the vim from a warm (1)
Kitchen floats with the
Tenderness of young dreams.

Observe the art of its
Layers, sometimes cracked
Revealing viridity under… (2)
Adorned by a golden glow

Tips resembling the wig of
A scarecrow built carelessly
With the clothes become rags
From stretched days, short nights…

Call an onion and it will
Faithfully expose the aroma,
Give flair to the forlorn, for
In every living, growing,

Is poetry. To the recipient
Of all that is moving and
Changing… days ticking,
Mildew spreading, Calling

Loudly your name.
_______________

Vim (1)

Ebullient vitality and energy. See Synonyms at vigor.

[Latin, accusative of v s; see wei – in Indo-European roots.]

Viridity (2)

n.
1.
a. The quality or condition of being green; greenness.
b. The green color of vegetation or leaves.
2. Innocence or inexperience.

From the benches…

From the benches I read and pay
Homage to the reverence I feel
Toward the decorum surrounding
Me.

From the contrast in colors…
To peaceful hidden spots or thick
Shiny roots exploring the mysteries
Of earth’s nether.

All groan…Whisper in harmony
A lullaby to the ones who see.

Everywhere accompanying our very step (trees 3) 28.5.2013

Everywhere accompanying our very step (trees 3)
———————————————

They are everywhere
Grazing the foot of mountains
Bordering a lake, brushing rooftops,
Designing a niche for a lone abode,
Parading on the Champs-Elysées
Or encircling protectively the Eiffel Tower
Harboring those who hurry home from a
Somber season or guarding the slanting
Façade of a historical house.

They are just everywhere
Accompanying our very step…
Around the globe, we swirl and detect
Leaves ablaze with sun’s warm reflection
Or a trunk soaked by forests flavors
After a sudden gush…
Nourishing and being nourished
By earth’s plentiful.
