I never thought such nature still existed…
It is raw, foreboding, gentle, soothing, dramatic, cleansing…
Happiness is surrounding ourselves with such beauty at a moment’s notice and/or at every opportunity presenting itself to us.
The Highland cattle is quite a sight when arriving at Isle of Mull.
One can quickly become addicted to capturing the perfect shot. But in reality the setting is so right every angle is perfect.
A glimpse of Mull, #Iona, Staffa, Loch na Lathaich, #Oban and #Ardalanish is a glimpse in heaven.
Mull clenches your thirst for wildlife/#sealife beauty in an environment that has stayed intact and hopefully will go on so.
It is living nature in its true essence.

Video & photo of new oil painting project
Working on a new project on 100/160 canvas.
This is the second canvas I am using in this size, the first being in acrylic.
Oil painting is far more challenging.
Having said that, I love my work. Artists are given the liberty to feel like a child while acting like an adult… I rarely share the beginnings of my projects, I’d rather show the end product, it kind of takes off the pressure as some can take as long as two years but for one reason or another this time was an exception maybe in order to celebrate my first oil painting on such a big scale…
My first two portfolios finally completed!
I am so very proud to present to you my brand new portfolios!
I finally got down to work on them (painting and photography) after months of procrastination. It took me a solid nine to ten hours each. I was so depleted I felt as if I had run a marathon at its completion…
What do you think of it, any suggestions for the next ones in the future?
Please take a moment to check my…

Our pet rabbit cuddles photo shoot
Our pet rabbit inspired me to a photo shoot.
A while back we introduced her to a new flavor. She sniffed & favored her blanket instead. The contrast in colours were too obvious to ignore a photographic opportunity.
Cuddles, tummy & head rubs are her favorite. She’s a handful (a lot of cleaning up & protecting wires around the house) but well worth it 🙂

My top four B&W beauties!
Today, I have selected out of my whole collection the top four B&Ws!
The first one you might be familiar with, it’s been used once to thank all of you followers for your kindness & patience whenever I was in a pickle with my blog or computer.
The second one is actually from my handbag strap which I believe would make a nice close up & out of the five I took this one was the best.
Having said that I find B&W pure fun & should probably explore a bit more that avenue…
Which one is your favorite? Do you like the monochrome with a blue tint to it too?
Lambs lettuce & radishes for inspiration :)
I was preparing myself a plate of organic greens washing the earth off & noticed the colour contrast, the beauty of fresh food which lead me to a photo shoot craze… There was no photoshop involved besides the middle one where I played a bit with the colour.
Which one is your favorite?
Taking quality time for family
I am taking time off until after holidays so I can spend quality time with my family & come back energized to go on painting, writing & posting…
Thanks for all the positive feedback, I know it’s very time consuming, that is why I appreciate it all the more!
Wishing all of you a warm, healthy & cozy holiday 🙂
The sequel of our rabbits
About two years ago our children begged us for a rabbit which I adamantly refused because life experience taught me it would inevitably all fall on me, the cleaning, feeding, joy & pain… Then recently, I caved in on the condition that it wouldn’t, I guess we never learn 😉
(we had two hamsters more than twenty years ago see…https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/2012/10/09/our-hamsters-burial/ an essay I wrote for a writing course)
So, we looked on the internet (big mistake there!) & went on a drive to buy a two month old Albino buck which was taken away from its mother, without us understanding the consequence (second mistake!) we loved him on sight & called him Flappy because of what we thought were his floppy ears, that’s how oblivious we were… total newbies!
Five days later after taking a big place in our home, Flappy broke our heart & died for what seemed, no apparent reason, until I worked hours on the internet to collect as much information as possible in order to understand the why’s that kept turning in our head & found out that private breeders have a high mortality rate & that two months old is still too young to separate from the mother if we were told the truth about its age!
After respectfully parting from him we went to look, this time in a shop, for one that would fill the huge gap Flappy had created in such a short tract & found a four month old doe (we made sure of that too) that was not with its mother, meaning old enough to be adopted by us without dying on us.
I fell for Kwaki (the name our kids insisted upon) for her big eyes & beautiful fur & came home with the hope that everyone would love her as much as I already did… which happened to some quicker than others but she quickly won over 😉
Kwaki is nearly four months with us now & soon eight months of age, we’ve learnt everything we could over rabbits, to the last detail, she’s a cheeky, healthy one with a load of character, keeps us on our toes, there is a pile of cleaning up after, that mostly falls on me, I’ve built her “castles” from free supermarket boxes(yes, she munches her way through them!) but we adore her 🙂
Nevertheless every time we see photos of our Flappy we still have this slight squeeze & miss that white bundle of fur…
Here are some photos of the two I hope you’ll enjoy!
Treasure hunting for the crown’s jewels
To me, the sea, mountains & its creatures living on premises are the crown’s jewels & when we go out there, I like hunting with my loved ones bringing back a testimony to share with all of you the extraordinary every day miracles of a planet we tend to take for granted because we have it & see it on a daily basis.
I’ve got a collection of seventeen photos which I carefully selected including some of the every day occurrence to put you in the ambiance of the unusually sunny, windless shores two days ago!
I hope you’ll enjoy this post too 🙂
