This painting “Nesting in Eden” is the results of a privileged, exciting, magical family moment! The collaboration of my daughter’s creativity, my groundwork… & very slight guidance/modifications.

Yearning from concrete to changes…

The cradle of quintessential ©copyright2015owpp

The cradle of quintessential
©copyright2015owpp

I need change.
The kind that will slice the past from the future.
The one that throws the stale to the wolves giving them a chance to feast on old despair, new pain.
That erases the awkwardness of unwanted strokes & colours in an uninspired moment on canvas.
The change that brings spring to one’s step, washes dust accumulated over a lifetime, gives a breath of life to depleted lungs tired of screaming frustration.

A new beginning.

A leaf untouched…
Thick enough to hold the weight of gold, music, streams of clear pure me, of light happiness, of life in every second, in every drop reflecting the warmth & invitation of sunlight, the growth of tiny shoots…
Of essence.

I need not escape realities of life but nudity of meaning, void spreading its wings demanding more space.
I need change now, not a price dangling in front of a screaming soul.
If the world can make changes nobody wants, I can make changes I aspire to for a decade.

But how does one move a continual existence among concrete to the cradle of quintessential, the pacifying arms of space, growth & tranquillity without the means to grasp that suspended dream?

I shout not of despondency but whisper the conveyance of promise, the strategy of hope.
I feed not the fond illusion of a fool’s paradise…
A few questions in wait of disclosure & the walls will come tumbling down…
A few more steps in that direction escorted by diligence & the carrot will be in my mouth!

“In a nutshell life is fun” project revealed!

“In a nutshell life is fun” finally revealed!

The 12th of February I wrote in this post that I was busy with a new project & posted a photo with it see…
https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/?s=busy+with+new+project well, it actually started in February 2014!
Sometimes an idea begins with a spark & mine was cracking nuts… observing how nature is perfect, feeling there was something to the line, folds, cracks & even fresh mold from the ones rotting… yes, I thought, life’s journey is all that, the good & the not so…

That was long before “Life’s cobblestones” was born, actually that one came as an accident 🙂 see… https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/?s=life%27s+cobblestones
I was preparing the canvas with a thick white coat of paint for this project but it wasn’t subtle enough & on the advice of my mentor, let it rest… to make a long story short, one thing led to another & to my surprise “Life’s cobblestones” matured into completion as a result of the “In a nutshell” project!
“Evolution trek” https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/?s=evolution+trek & “Odyssey” https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/?s=odyssey are all part of a collection of projects on the same theme, the one of life’s journey.
Note in the close ups (for you to be able to see the details) the half nutshells, the colours, the ones shining but authentic in their original “dressing”, the whole hazelnuts small & shining (see in full photo) the beauty of the moldy ones, the specks of nutshell residue, the white one at the far right corner… they all are respectful to the idea of life’s journey.
You are the observer free to use your own interpretation!

I’ll be posting here, the whole set of photos following the long process, step by step till its completion, I hope you’ll enjoy it!
Click on photo to enlarge please. All orders are more than welcome! Just let me know in a comment if you are interested in further details.

DIY dyes from your kitchen & garden: magic of living color

I am affiliated with courses of http://fergustheforager.co.uk/about/ which I can’t actually follow as I don’t live there but I got a book on foraging, was thirsty for more & found his blog diverting, informative in a fun organic way.
Today I got in my email their natural dye course & decided to go on YouTube.
Having looked at a few I decided to post one I could relate to, where the plants were familiar to me & hope you’ll like it…
the surroundings are so soothing you find yourself lulled by its natural sounds 🙂

Sasha Duerr uses just about anything to dye clothing: from kitchen waste (coffee grounds, avocado pits and onion skins) to invasive “weeds” (wild fennel, oxalis) to the leaves, fruit or petals of nearly any tree or plant (maple, pear, cherry, fig, acorn, fern, dahlia, poppy, lavender, etc).
Inspired by permaculture, Duerr believes in a slower approach to textile dying- she founded the Permacouture Institute to help advance Slow Textiles- both as a way to respect the environment, but also because she believes that plant-based color is more beautiful, and truly alive.

My top four B&W beauties!

©copyright2015owpp

©copyright2015owpp

Today, I have selected out of my whole collection the top four B&Ws!
The first one you might be familiar with, it’s been used once to thank all of you followers for your kindness & patience whenever I was in a pickle with my blog or computer.
The second one is actually from my handbag strap which I believe would make a nice close up & out of the five I took this one was the best.
Having said that I find B&W pure fun & should probably explore a bit more that avenue…
Which one is your favorite? Do you like the monochrome with a blue tint to it too?

Sucked in the vortex of life. My new abstract painting!

As “Sun among foliage” this one is brand new but was painted a few days before. I am including close ups so you can notice the brush strokes of the vortex itself & the movement of the palette knife around, which reveals a multitude of colours from an under layer representing life as being faithful to its bright cheerful miraculous entity even when it gets very hectic & eventful.
