Le marronnier enneigé (The horse chestnut in snow)

This is an addition to the first marronnier which I have not yet managed to update here. This one is now a part of my grand tree collection too.

I guess you can call this a work of gratitude.
Trees make life beautiful, it’s alive, it grows, summer it gives shade, winter shelter from winds & storms, it (sometimes) nourishes, provides wood for all kind of purposes, gives oxygen, lightens our hearts in every aspect, decorates our outdoors, indoors, minds & souls, goes with the cycle of seasons a symbol of rebirth…
This is a reminder that We are lucky to be surrounded by them day in day out!

Fleeting moments of unadulterated silence

Fleeting moments

Fleeting moments

We have been given a late summer this year, yet my heart isn’t letting go of winter peels.
Joy struggles in the shadows, planning an escape that bounces off the walls of life. Of the mind.

Happiness is truly within.

Sun might enhance the rainbows of our soul, like contrast adding sharpness to a photo defining its contours but it isn’t the essential ingredient.

Yet, I inherently know delight lies in wait, lurks around the corner. A lifetime doesn’t vanish into oblivion.

I slow my pace in all good summer tradition, setting aside guilt (for imposing my will to those around me) living days moment by moment, listening to the pulses of nature, savouring every sound, celebrating the notion of nothingness surprised by the calmness that proceeds, appreciating the wonders of wildlife accompanying us wherever we are, on a daily basis gone unnoticed…

We are born to think motion is the only motor of survival, the only form of sanity but we forget to retire for a while from the hubbub to calm the nervous energy that comes with it.

We still have more than a month left. I know this might last no longer than the ink absorbed unto this page but I won’t forget so easily those fleeting moments of unadulterated silence & invite you to do the same 🙂

P.s
A very pleasant summer to you all!!

Turbulences soon coming up in bigger version… & opening of new online shop at Saatchi Art

Turbulences

Proudly presenting…
Turbulences. 30/30cm 3.1/2 cm deep.
Forces of nature always fascinated me, tornadoes are one of them.
A demonstration of raw power par excellence.
Having said that I’d rather stick to my canvas than approaching one of them.

Please scroll down for close ups…
Notice the movement & metallic colors used to convey the electrifying energy emanating from
a stormy atmosphere.
Extra strong gel medium was used to produce the relief.

Having had a good feedback on this small version, my next project will be a much bigger one…

Thank you all so much for your continual support.
Your visits, likes & comments are most valuable to me!

I want to take this opportunity to announce the opening of my new online shop on Saatchi Art (I encountered too many technical difficulties on Etsy when they lately changed their rules)
Will keep you updated as soon as I have the time to feed my account with photos of my painting collections.

Sunset after storm finally finished!

Sunset after storm

Sunset after storm

An ongoing process, that is until now.
One of the biggest project I ever was busy with, split in to four canvases.
It is longer than a comfortable three seater couch.
Will post it again later once it has found its niche.
A sunset I experienced a while back when least expected.
The day was stormy and rainy from the word go.
When it approached to its end, I had given up on any flamboyant ending but it took me by surprise,
the sky cleared a tiny space up, the sun ripped it further open and boasted a most spectacular as short,
entrance and exit I can ever remember.
Which shows that things can turn for the better at any moment…
Not always does it go with logic.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce the grand opening of my Etsy shop.

Your visits would be very much appreciated.
Let the word go round our amazing community.
For the past few months things have been quite hectic & (even though I have mentioned it before)
I have much less time to go to my reader.
My apologies for that with the promise to try my best, to go there every so often…
Wishing all of you a perfect gratifying week!

Seeking quietude & thank you’s!

Seeking Nirvana 🙂

Just to give a sign of presence after a small pause between posts!
I have tried to like & comment as much as possible but find it hard to get on WordPress every day as I did previously.
It has been hectic lately here & feel in dire need of quietude.
Winter is usually a time where one slows down a bit, keeping more indoors, weather being the major cause but apparently this year was a bit of an exception.
I wanted to express my deepest gratitude again & always for the constant faithfulness of my followers, likes & comments throughout my rather inadequate ubeity 🙂

Holidays have stretched out for technological reasons

Hi everyone! Please forgive my longer absence. I have computer problems which I hope will quickly get resolved. You might remember this photo… I have already used it as I cannot bring my photos into my Media.
Meanwhile one of my closest opened up Instagram for me as an advertising facility for my photography & paintings. All you have to do is go on “search” on Instagram, type LIFE_PAINTINGS to get on it.
If you have a moment to spare I’d greatly appreciate the effort! It is still at its beginning so persevere with me while I’m buildings a solid portfolio…
Thanks again for your patience, all the likes & follows. I am always amazed at the fidelity of my viewers especially in my inactive holiday periods or as now, when trouble arises 🙂

Taking quality time for family

I am taking time off until after holidays so I can spend quality time with my family & come back energized to go on painting, writing & posting…
Thanks for all the positive feedback, I know it’s very time consuming, that is why I appreciate it all the more!
Wishing all of you a warm, healthy & cozy holiday 🙂

Our harvest & preparing for winter…

Our harvest! ©copyright2014owpp

Our harvest!

Today it started to freeze… I had to quickly bring in the last green tomatoes to go on riping indoors & try to protect the plants by wrapping them up with thin plastic sheets.
Without knowing if I was doing the right thing I cut the leaves & put them around the root to keep the heat assuming the plants needed all their energy to stay alive.
As we have many gardeners out there I’d like to ask if I did the right thing or did I weaken them by taking it off & is plastic enough to stop them from freezing as I have no place for the portable greenhouses suggested by other bloggers?
Here are photos of our “garden” & of our seeds drying system 😉
