The ones we never knew & the creation to where it all begins

the bliss of moments

Many years ago, I heard on the radio horrific news which left a scar in my memory never to be erased.

As always my only way out was to pick up my pen and let the pages soak the muddle of emotions and tears running havoc in my mind with no escape… they jumped out like cooped up horses after a long freezing winter and found in the spaces and margins some sort of quietude which I am going to share with you today.

May we live in a world where we unite our energies to build our dreams.

Horror & waste, sorrow & grief of
Calcinated lives, burned felicity.
Committing the irreparable with
No second thought…

Anguish at no time erased nor shafted.
A rock erodes ne’er intense souvenir
Of a family, an entity, a world..

There is no deterioration to the shared
Recollection of the close yet distant.
The smile, the tender caress of words.
Innocence of life just begun.
__ __ __ __ __ __

Incomprehensible recklessness,
Consequences of actions & pain
Henceforth as a shadow till no day ends.

Those souls where lullabies, cuddles &
Mummy were pursued to the furnace…
Promising future… educating her jewels
Oblivious to the unfathomable turn of fate

Embracing her angels, frozen in the eternal
Love-position. Boundless uncalculated
Generosity engraved in our memories forever
__ __ __ __ __

Coming away empty yet plethoric with this
Paragon of virtue…mundane words to describe
What rhymes with nothing. Madness to which we
Succumb to construe the baseness, depravity

To destroy. We lost those we never knew. It
Could be he, me or you…helpless yet praying
For lucidity & humanity to tip the scale.

Appreciating & discerning the bliss of moments
Palpating, investing in the forces of courage
The powers of soundness by edifying the
Element of our fount & demonstrating affection

And respect toward where it all begins… (1)
The ones we love most…

Our family.

(1) The creation of a better world

Family bloggers award nomination!

the family bloggers award

I feel honored, privileged and truly grateful for having received the Family bloggers award from the blogger Sandy of ” Another lovely day ” .
Her blog is a true breath of fresh air, her photos breathtaking and her writing soothing to the heart.

I’m not a flatterer, those remarks are totally sincere. I discovered her blog in the beginnings of my introduction to the blog world
and immediately took to it.

Here’s the link to Sandy’s blog. http://anotherlovelyday.wordpress.com/2012/12/13/overdue-thank-yous-awards-and-a-little-winnie-the-pooh

Well, now I have to use the anagram of the word ‘FAMILY’ to tell about the attributes I bring to the family of bloggers

F. Friendship.

A. Affection.

M. Magic ( one can dream, right ?)

I. Integrity.

L. Love.

Y. Youth.

I hope my blog truly reflects all the above.
My poems surely does speak about friendship, love and affection. Magic is a major part of poetry too. I think it’s all about
visualizing the impossible becoming a reality.

Integrity is something I aspire to and hope it transpires through my works.

Youth is something I’d like to treasure later on in my life ( even today mind you! 🙂 ) and would love my blog to reach
them too.

And last but not least, I’d like to nominate Four other bloggers for the ” Family bloggers award ” and thank them for
their constant support, kindness and inspiration through my beginnings ( and until today ) in the blog world. I know I have missed
out a whole load of amazing bloggers, I’ll nevertheless add another three exceptional ones, besides the strict four of the regulations.

The arid desert and arriving home 2012

food binge

Relapse and hangover
———————-

You wake up in the morning in a daze shaking off the remnants of what you still believe is a nightmare as a dog would, his fur, after a swim in the icy waters of a December sea.

But no matter how hard you shake, reality seeps in the fogginess of your dulled brain, rays
of light sweep through the dingy alleyways and you are confronted with the naked truth.

It was not a bad dream and yet how many times have you woken up having ” binged ” your way through with the foods you would have never assented to in day time.

At this point, not yet fully awake, with the sense of sluggishness lingering and your steps dragging you down as a millstone attached to your ankles, there is no mistaking the self-made situation you find yourself in.

You dust the residues of madness off your shoulders, stand tall, head high and make a conscientious decision to act habitually from now on.

Hope lightens this juncture, regular behavior patterns just pick themselves up back again and join your life, welcomed as a long lost child after a journey in the arid desert of the Sahara.

All is fine and seems under control until remnants, sneak their way back in, just in an instant of inattention. Before you have time to quickly take your ” tools ” out.

And you are back to square one, with a bitter taste in your mouth, lingering for a indefinite
amount of time no matter what cure you seek. So, you accept the notion that there is no quick-fix
for a lifetime of roller-coasters toward food.

Tenacity

Tenacity

You persevere tenaciously with the obstinacy of the doomed, the condemned, knowing there is no way out of this one. You drag out your tool box with purposefulness and pray for the willingness that produces, persistency, determination and patience. And before you know it, you reconnect with the familiar and comforting world of O.A with the soothing feeling of having arrived.

Where isolation does not have a place, where everyone knows how it feels because not so long ago, they were there too.

P.S This article was written four months ago, I am glad for the moment to be home.
I hope you enjoyed it, Let me know.

Our hamster’s burial 2011

White hamster

Our hamster’s burial
———————-

It was a crispy, sunny, Sunday afternoon in nineteen ninety three.

Our whole family was united under the same roof of our old car in solemn solidarity, clinging unto a battered shoe box where our hamster lay peacefully among the outdated newspapers we had provided as temporary
comfort.

Not that it made much difference to our poor deceased creature, who surely had already joined his other soul mates in hamster paradise.

But it was more for our solace than his.

We drove endlessly in search of an isolated spot, that would allow us to dig a hole for our albino pet that had taken a special place in our heart.

Living in a busy town did not make things easier. We roamed around aimlessly, trying to detect that precious empty spot.
There! Shouted our oldest, followed by an echo coming from the rest of us, where? Where?!

The answer came swiftly, On your right, can’t you see?

We darted in a single movement, to the right, our eyes lighting up at the prospect of a discovery, and, yes! It was there!…

Was this going to be the final resting place for our pet? We wondered.

We stopped, got out of the car, our children trooping out, straight and sedate as little brave soldiers.

We studied the grounds as experts would, weighing the pros and cons and finally decided against.

We were staring at a manicured lawn. A public one and therefore, liable to a fine. Besides, even without a fine, we would have never had the heart to spoil such a well tended landscape.

So, off we went, in search of wilder pastures.

After a back and forth animated verbal exchange, we deliberated our verdict. We were going out of the city to find a peaceful spot in untouched nature.
Everyone agreed it was the best solution and peace settled among our tribe.

The further we went, the more subdued we all were. We had to face the inevitable.
Tranquility descended upon the small tight space of our vehicle.

———————————–

The day had begun to fall. The sun was hiding behind dark heavy clouds and a blanket of mist hovered on top of the fields in a protective embrace.

We stood perfectly still, as if mesmerized.
This was, thee acme.

Digging a hole

In a cowardly gesture, I inquired if anyone fancied digging a whole. It must have sounded far too brutal to their young and innocent ears because, my question collided with implacable deafening silence.
So we all went, together into action ( Mainly me! ) implicating ourselves into the mission we had endeavored to do.

It was quickly over and we drove back feeling gratified for having accomplished what we had set our mind and heart to.

How is it possible, I thought, to have gotten so fond of this little creature, when I used to be terrified of any four legged living form?
I ended up being the one helping him in his last gasps of breath…
A person, I mused, is full of surprises.

After a moment, the car slowly filled with the familiar ” music ” of sibling rivalry and I smiled at the pleasant continuation of life’s trivialities.

All was in its right place.

Désordre
——–

Ensemble
On commence
Sa vie.
Les enfants
Arrivent.
On amasse.
On s’entasse
Espérant
Trouver
Une pause
A travers
Une chose.
On s’enfonce
Dans l’amour
Et les couches
Sales.
Ignorant
Le chaos
Le désordre
De l’esprit
De l’âme
Par habitude
Par lassitude.

La douceur
Les câlins
Les bisous
Barbouillés
De purée.
L’insomnie
L’inquiétude
D’un cri
D’une jeune
Tête
Enfiévré
Sont nos
” Desserts ”
Parfumés
Du moment
De l’instant
De l’éternité
Imaginer

————–

Puis un jour
Le ” toujours ”
A prit
Une tournure.
Des adultes
Bien aviser
Vous donnent
La réplique
Vous explique
Vous implique
Dans leurs vies
Sophistiquer.
Vous vous appliquez
Et vous apprenez
Comme
Un bébé,
Des lois
Qui n’ont
Jamais
Existé.
Ils ont
Quitté
Le nid
Douillé,
Mais retournent,
Le temps compté
Pour être
Rassurer.

—————

Puis la torpeur
S’est dissipé.
Finalement
On ” voit ”
Leurs passé
Accumulé
Délaissé
Par des armoires
Bondés

—————

On remédie
Par des-ordres
Donner
A la tribu
Immobilisé
Dans un geste
De solidarité.
Les souvenirs
Dépliés
Dépoussiérer
Quelques larmes ( les miennes!)
Beaucoup d’amour.
Une conscience ( eux )
D’être arriver
A l’indépendance
A la vie

—————-

Et nous,
D’avoir
Donné
D’avoir
vécu
Et commencer
une vie
D’ordre
De sérénité
Et d’amasser
Entasser
La spiritualité
La gaieté
L’insouciance
La bonne
ambiance.

VACANCES!!!

Dis-order-A spring clean frenzy 2012 ( Translation from original text in post above as ” Désordre ” )

we hoard & hoard... ©copyright2013owpp

we hoard & hoard…
©copyright2013owpp

Hi everyone!
Today, I want to introduce you to a poem I wrote.
As I’m bilingual, a weird pattern developed along the years.
My poetry flowed naturally in French and my writings, in English.
So, forgive me if the translation is not totally faithful to it’s original text, I’ll try my best to stick to it, but I’ll still type it in French for those who are familiar with the language
and will appreciate it’s authenticity.
This poem was the result of a beautiful week of total spring-clean-frenzy, with the family as a united team.
Here goes…

Disorder
———

Together
We start
A life.
Children
Come.
We accumulate
We piled
Hoping
To find
A rest
Through
An object
Sinking
In love
And dirty
Diapers
Ignoring
The chaos
The disorder
Of our mind
Of our soul
By habit
By weariness.

The softness
The cuddles
The kisses
Smeared with
Puree.
Insomnia
Worry
The cry
Of a young
Feverish
Head
Are our
Perfumed
” Desserts ”
Of the moment
Of the instant
Of the eternity
Imagined
————-
Then,one day
The ” always ”
Takes
A turn.
Well advised
Adults
Give you
The cue
Explain to you
Implicate you
In their sophisticated
Lives.
You apply yourself
And you learn
As a baby
Laws
That never
Existed.
They left
Their cosy
Nest
But come back
On borrowed
Time
To be
Reassured.
————-
Then,torpor
Dissipates.
Finally
We ” see ”
Their past
Accumulated
Abandoned
In jam-packed
Cupboards
————-
We remedy
By orders
Given
To the ” tribe ”
Immobilized
In a gesture
Of solidarity.
Memories
Are unfolded
Dusted
A few tears ( mine! )
A lot of love.
An awareness ( them )
Of having reached
Independence,
Life.
————–
And we,
To have
Given,
Lived.
And start
A life
Of order
Serenity
To amass
To pack
Spirituality
Gaiety
Carelessness
A good atmosphere,

VACATION!!!
