Turbulences soon coming up in bigger version… & opening of new online shop at Saatchi Art

Turbulences

Proudly presenting…
Turbulences. 30/30cm 3.1/2 cm deep.
Forces of nature always fascinated me, tornadoes are one of them.
A demonstration of raw power par excellence.
Having said that I’d rather stick to my canvas than approaching one of them.

Please scroll down for close ups…
Notice the movement & metallic colors used to convey the electrifying energy emanating from
a stormy atmosphere.
Extra strong gel medium was used to produce the relief.

Having had a good feedback on this small version, my next project will be a much bigger one…

Thank you all so much for your continual support.
Your visits, likes & comments are most valuable to me!

I want to take this opportunity to announce the opening of my new online shop on Saatchi Art (I encountered too many technical difficulties on Etsy when they lately changed their rules)
Will keep you updated as soon as I have the time to feed my account with photos of my painting collections.

Finding solace in nature’s protection

Picture perfect! ©copyright2014owpp

Picture perfect!
©copyright2014owpp

This was an unforgettable outing… when life gets too chaotic we are lucky
to have the possibility to run to the hills to seek solace in its protection.
Regardless to past behavior, nature embraces & cradles humanity unconditionally.

As hard as it was to choose the best of this collection, I tried to put myself
into the viewer “shoes” & select the top ones which came to a grand total of
sixteen so, my apologies for the length of this post 🙂

Nameless mountain flower

Temporary namelessness :) ©copyright2014owpp

Temporary namelessness 🙂
©copyright2014owpp

Many years ago I found this flower on a stroll in the surrounding mountains of Celerina-Switzerland which fascinated me by its unique chiffon appearance.
Having searched on the internet & thinking it was a Drosanthemum floribundum – Pale Dewplant I realized the leaves did not match… it remains nameless until one of you recognizes it 🙂

Ray Mears’ Extreme Survival S03E01 – Belarus

This is an amazing BBC series on You tube that goes in six different parts of about 50 mn. each and are absolutely fascinating, there’s not one boring moment in them ( I have seen everyone of them) but as they’ve been put a copyright on, I can’t place them in this blog.

It goes from S03E01 to S03E06.

Ray Mears’ Extreme Survival S03E01 – Belarus
Ray Mears’ Extreme Survival S03E02 – Roger’s Rangers
Ray Mears’ Extreme Survival S03E03 – Alaska
Ray Mears’ Extreme Survival S03E04 – Namibia
Ray Mears’ Extreme Survival S03E05 – Thailand
Ray Mears’ Extreme Survival S03E06 – New Zealand

There’s a huge amount of knowledge gained from it, captivating testimonies of survival and reconstructions of the stories with Ray Mears who is a brilliant reporter on survival skills around all these countries… it just transports you far away to the far corners of untouched wild life around the world.

Well worth relaxation time split into a few evenings 🙂

HOW I MADE A SOLAR POP CAN FURNACE / HEATER

I found this in a post from http://theroadtoserendipity.wordpress.com/2013/09/04/mnemonics-brachychitons-and-macgyver/
This is surely not my department but it is so ingenious I HAD to post it… it fascinated me how a person can take pop cans and make a solar panel out of it!

Enjoy the creativity 🙂

Stars on ripples…

Ripples glistering
Under the burning
Midday sun as fallen
Stars under a full
Moon, igniting and
Vanishing in the
Same gasp…

These photos took me a long time to capture. My camera is not a sophisticated one and it took me ages to get those stars shinning 🙂
Enjoy them!

The pink Hydrangea

Hydrangea (/haɪˈdreɪndʒⁱə/;[1] common names hydrangea or hortensia) is a genus of 70-75 species of flowering plants native to southern and eastern Asia (China, Japan, Korea, the Himalayas, and Indonesia) and the Americas. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably China, Japan, and Korea. Most are shrubs 1 to 3 meters tall, but some are small trees, and others lianas reaching up to 30 m (98 ft) by climbing up trees. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous.

The betrothal of man & nature 16.7.2013

The betrothal of man & nature
————————————-

I do not pretend to tame or conquer
Heights or skies
All I want is your revered beauty
Accompanying
My Odyssey so I can watch your
Marvels with
The Deference merited.

Sit in your silence or accept your
Fury crashing
Against the rocks, fire spitting off
The lips of
Earth, flashes gleaming through
The darkened
Wrathful clouds.

I would like to see the highest waterfalls
Offer itself
To its nucleus… sands sweep the
Evanescent dunes,
The waters shimmering…under the sun,
Froth Vanishing
On white, pink or black sands.

I have heard the echoes of ages,
Smelled foliage
After storm, stones impregnated
With life…
Followed tracks
With no direction, vibrating in me
The familiar sounds…

Of sub silentio… have witnessed
Frost crystallizing
Over dormant villages & glazed lakes,
Inhaled shards of
Glass deep in December’s bewitchment,
But never
Have I retired into

Your arm folds, lulled by your
Differing Anthems
Been a corroborator to your
Grandeur.
I have dreamt you in my
Days & nights,
Attending as an habitué,

Breathing in me, life in its kernel,
Crooning
The promises of paradise…
On the wings
Of habit & proneness…
But until then,
I will wait for the betrothal

Of man & nature
In an eternal blend.

The happy lamppost!

I can hear your heart beaming
Your light shinning through
The bluest of skies, crowned
By a Lei of yellow and green
Enhancing the azure above.
