A technical glitch becomes my muse.

This project isn’t new.
In fact I have long been busy with it and still have a long way to go…
There are still a million details to refine.

The whole idea was a sheer stroke of luck.
Our printer was nearly out of ink and the result was this amazingly hazy, blurry work of art…
On paper.

A technical glitch became my muse.
Our printer, despite itself turned what could’ve been a more or less ordinary idea into a punch of genius.
In an instant it had taken a whole new dimension.

Today, looking so very closely, I continue detecting, along the work (which often needs a magnifying glass) so much movement in what appeared at first to be a soft, romantic, vague looking image.

This “failed” print I notice, is a host to so many nuances, shadows, blurry, ghostly, ephemeral expressions…

And it lies in every stroke of this ongoing project.
It is very precise, nothing is left to chance.

Yet, it would have gone unnoticed to my eye, if I wasn’t so busy with its minutiae.

Celebration

_20170912_100223

Hi everyone!
I couldn’t believe five whole years have gone by since I started this blog.
Forgive my absence.
Lately I have been having computer issues and couldn’t keep you updated with my work, the exhibition, my photography…
But I promise to start posting again as soon as it’s all fixed.
Only then will I feel entitled to fully celebrate this milestone 🙂
Best of luck to all my faithful followers and visitors and best wishes for a safe and warm winter!

Light’s victory is finally finished!

“Light’s victory” is a painting I started in 2012 a work in progress until I decided to finish it today.
Sometimes paintings need to be set aside in order to see which direction you want to take with it, that’s what happened to this one.
My bold strokes were influenced by Monet’s softer & more subtle style nevertheless it’s his works that brought the results in mine.
It’s Acrylic paint on a canvas of 75 cm/115 cm = 30/45 inches
The theme goes precisely after its given name, light’s victory over darkness, it speaks about hope & stays faithful to the painting “Interaction & influences” philosophy which I used as my header.
See… https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/2012/12/20/interaction-and-influences-2012/
Not only do we influence our neighbors & surroundings in all manners (our choice & responsibility to use it positively & not negatively) light always prevails, truth always shines through in the end.
Here are the stages of my painting, enjoy & best wishes to all of you for a warm & healthy winter!

Burano & Carlo Memo-Memories of an encounter 24.6.2013

This prose is the result of a very special moment spent in the house of Burano’s renowned artist Carlo Memo.
A privileged encounter into the cracks of time…

Burano & Carlo Memo
—————————-

Stepping into a rhapsody
Opening the doors to where
Pigmentation, structure & grain
Prime over mundanities.

Where comfort & authenticity poise.
We climb stairs leading to candor &
Iridescence, to a life of devotion
& skill, brushes & tubes aligned,
Immaculate, waiting for its owner
To choose its dean.

Spread layers upon layers
Of tenor & soul,
Gist & dreams,
Hope for the morrow…

Rows of monuments, wordless poems,
Music without notes, cascading on
Tight canvasses soothing our sore eyes,
Blending with the skies, soliciting the trees & seas…
We leave our calling & join thoughts around
A table of carved & sanded wood, Built

As fervidly as the
Murals, the boat…
Joined particles of
An ardent prayer…

We get up & glance to our right
At a kitchen composed as an Ode
To purity…born of a sparkling mind,
Nobility of a soul. More paintings
Hanging on walls & we slide back
Into the current of the mundane,

Bright sun & façades
Humming… beating
The drums to another tune,
Alluring us to idleness.

Tearing ourselves from the transient
Gratitude pumping our bursting veins
Aware of having been beckoned into what
Escapes most…of peeping through the keyhole
Of kudos, we withdraw cherishing a
Sketched memory of our encounter,

Depicting it into the
Chronicles of our lives
As a privileged slip
In the cracks of time.

Getting used to a blog. ( Any tips out there? )

Help! (2)

Hi everyone,

I know I have been promising to post my paintings and I am working on it, classifying, gathering, taking photos
but it’s a slow process. As a new blogger, I have to rely on family cooperation.
On the way I’m paving I encounter mishaps too. For example, my ” new post display ” on the top right of the page doesn’t
load the information of, comments, likes, followers… My ” notifications ” and ” new post ” ( that permits us to post video, photos give awards… )on the dashboard neither.

I have tried to ask for help in WordPress but their language is Chinese to me ( maybe it is not an example, I’m
teaching myself Chinese 🙂 ) So my questions for today out there to my fellow bloggers are, did you encounter such problems in the beginning,
is there anyone as unfamiliar as me in technical terms and still managed to discover how to bring a you tube video on their blog or,
photos? correct a malfunctioning tool on their blog?

Any tips will be greatly appreciated, enjoy your day!

Getting used to quality 2012 ( O.A Experience )

Hi everyone!

Do you know how usually you take a book and start at page one because that’s how it’s done, you follow the rules, but then, just once, tell yourself, what the heck I’ll start where I feel like starting and find yourself starting at the end. Then becoming so captivated by the writer’s style that you find yourself leafing the pages backwards?
Well, that’s what I felt like doing today.

I had in plan of presenting to you the first essay I had written, but then, today wanted to go with the feeling not the rule. Throwing all caution to the wind and giving you my last work which is of today called ” Getting used to quality “.

Getting used to quality
———————–

My longest abstinence, of not so late, lasted three months.
Three months of bliss, of being and feeling ” normal “. Those are times when one feels touched by the grace of our higher power ( or whatever you feel like calling it ).
We could be, day in day out, in the presence of all our binge foods, staring at us, yet, know in our mind and heart that it’s not ours.

We don’t do this anymore. We do life. We experience it happening and appreciate every moment as it comes, in all its blessings.
We have projects, plans, enthusiasm and go about realizing them as the natural flow of life.

We don’t feel heroic, just happy to BE. In its full sense.

No thunder or lightning, just tranquility and satisfaction of going  where the stream takes us.
So, logic would demand a continuation of what is good no?

Yet, we relapse over and over again. Nevertheless, relapse get fewer, shorter and abstinence longer as a consequence.
The wisdom collected along this arduous journey is priceless too.
We shouldn’t underestimate that. It becomes a powerful tool to help oneself and others in program.

But how I pray to get that motivation and zest for life back again!

How I long it to invade the empty space It had left on Its way out.

That’s probably part of the journey. The more we’re abstinent, the more we get use to GOOD in our life, the less we settle for mediocrity.

There’s awareness to quality versus quantity.

Quality becomes the essence. The truth. And we’d rather give up the quantity of food we’d stashed up in our body oblivious to the treasures laid at our feet.
The treasures of light in our life. That’s what we call quality today.

Thank you for taking time to read this.
