“Ascoltare e ripetere” is something I have heard very often twenty five years ago in my three years of Italian language studies. This poem was probably lying in my subconscious because the first words that popped into my minds for this poem was Ascoltare e scrivere which was not far from the classical audio tape’s repetitive phrase… as a result, it’s the first time I’m writing a poem in three languages. I hope the Italian version is correct, it took me some time to polish it 🙂
Let me know!

Fallen leaf
———

Listen & write the
Emotions that makes
The beating of your
Heart the quiver of
Your body as the
Fallen leaf from
The tree sinking
Back to earth in
Perpetual renaissance.
————–

Foglia caduta
————

Ascoltare e scrivere
Le emozioni che rende
Il battito del tuo
Cuore la faretra
Del tuo corpo come
La foglia caduta
Dall’albero naufragio
Di nuovo a terra in
Una rinascita perpetua
————-

Feuille tombée
————-

Ecouter et écrire
Les émotions qui
Produisent le
battement de ton
Coeur le frémissement
De ton corps comme
La feuille tombée
De l’arbre faisant
Naufrage vers la
Terre dans une
Renaissance perpetuelle

All that, much more… or rotten potatoes-16.6.2013

There’s life on Mars!

I had forgotten a bag of potatoes in my balcony.
They were partying while beauty was in the making 🙂
Two months later these were the results.

Enjoy the scenery!

All that, much more… or rotten potatoes
—————————————————-

Wearing the hats of an Ascot race
Tentacles stretching out in a plea
Clamoring the human race
For ostentation and allure,

Whichever way you look at me,
Flash your interpretation through
The lens of your soul.
See the bumps and cracks,

Flesh withering, rotting back to life,
Wrinkles and scratches,
Abandoned at a party in a pantry…
Forgotten to nature happening…

To the unfold of beauty in the making.
See it all in its synchronicity.
Love me for I am forever returning.
Expanding, growing…

A reflection in the firth of your desires.
See all that or… decay with no glory.
A smell to toss in an instinct of preservation
Applying the laws of order and cleanliness

Never questioning the
Possibilities of magic happening,
Foulness dissolving into beauty
Mold, as a compass to our mien (1)

Sprouts, extensions to barriers
Crevasses, detour… the scenic route
Catch even a glimpse of life on Mars
Or the gossiper thriving on some

Dripping, luscious, slippery news.
All that and much more, for every eye
Has a story, every mind a book.
Or, just take a glance and toss

Without a second thought,
The rotten potato.
______________

Mien (1)

1. Bearing or manner, especially as it reveals an inner state of mind: “He was a Vietnam veteran with a haunted mien” (James Traub).
2. An appearance or aspect.

[Alteration (influenced by French mine, appearance) of Middle English demeine, demeanor, from Old French, from demener, to behave; see demean1.]

The Bloomberg Commission: Giuseppe Penone: Spazio di Luce (Tree artist)

I can’t believe the serendipity! Full swing into my tree project I run smack into the article of a cultural magazine on an artist I hadn’t heard of before, Giuseppe Penone, who’s art is all around trees 🙂
I then started to research on You tube for a video that meets the criteria of an interesting blog with a certain level of quality… The appropriate language… Short and stimulating so as to keep the attention of the viewers.
I came up with this and hope you’ll enjoy this unusual form of art.

Published on Sep 4, 2012
Over the past 45 years, Italian artist Giuseppe Penone has examined our relationship to nature. For the latest Bloomberg Commission, he has created a twelve metre bronze cast of a tree, with a radiant gold-leaf interior, which spreads across the columned Whitechapel Gallery.

Unusually striped jelly fish!

Unusual jelly fish
©copyright2013owpp

We were strolling peacefully
Along the beach, wind blowing
Sun hibernating… When this
Jelly Fish caught our attention.
We swiftly “stole” the moment
Into our pocket of treasures,
Locking it safely in our prized
Collection…

Of family history.

Magnolia…

You reach toward the skies
Delicate as a water lily
Ephemeral blossom
I catch your petals
Falling unto my open palm
Treasure your scent
And this magical season

My self-grown tomato 2011

©copyright2013owpp

©copyright2013owpp

This was a experiment of mine… Again! I wondered if it was possible to grow something indoors.
Well it took a long time, nine months to be precise, for this tiny tomato and only one dared to
show up 🙂

The good thing that came out of it, I appreciated what I buy at the supermarket!

My dilemma was where do I fit this, in which category? I ended up putting it in the natural
recipes. Mainly because it fitted nowhere, well, it is nature’s recipe after all 🙂

Enjoy!
