Nameless flower… Not anymore! It’s the passiflora

I found this on a magical visit to Dordrecht-Holland (that’ll be for another post :)) thinking it was artificial with all its layers and different shades but soon realized it was very real!
I have a slight problem… I have no idea how it’s called and tried unsuccessfully to look it up on the internet… does anyone have that kind of knowledge, name, origin and if it’s natural or manipulated?

I just got a wonderful blogger http://ladybluerose.wordpress.com/ who gave me the name so with the courtesy of Wikipedia I’m giving you more information…
It is really ironical that I used Passiflora in homeopathy, Spagyric solutions and you name it but had never seen the photo of that flower 🙂

Passiflora, known also as the passion flowers or passion vines, is a genus of about 500 species of flowering plants, the namesakes of the family Passifloraceae. They are mostly vines, with some being shrubs, and a few species being herbaceous. For information about the fruit of the passiflora plant, see passionfruit. The monotypic genus Hollrungia seems to be inseparable from Passiflora, but further study is needed.

The family Passifloraceae has a pantropical distribution. Passiflora itself is absent from Africa, where many other members of the family Passifloraceae occur (e.g. the more plesiomorphic Adenia).
Nine species of Passiflora are native to the USA, found from Ohio to the north, west to California and south to the Florida Keys. Most other species are found in South America, Eastern Asia, and Southern Asia, New Guinea, four or more species in Australia and a single endemic species in New Zealand. New species continue to be identified: for example, P. pardifolia and P. xishuangbannaensis have only been known to the scientific community since 2006 and 2005, respectively.

Perfect cicada-The beauty of a fly

©copyright2013owpp

©copyright2013owpp

Through my lens,
Unfolded the birth
Of a flower among nettles
Through my lens,
Unravelled poetry
Of sunshine among thorns
Heedless of the allegory
Happening on a leaf…

Out of the corner of

My field of vision
I conjured you’d
Spread your wings
The instant you
Skidded on indefectable
Foliage but you paused-posed
And played an important
Role in what would become

The dawn of a beautiful adventure.

The tale of someone
Who saw grace in lieu
Of hideousness…
Inferred small is big
And never again would
Squash impeccancy and
Perfection under
An angry slipper!

Note:
This poem was inspired by the first photo I took focusing on the Theme of an-only-flower-among-foliage.
You can detect on the side the fly which I thought I had no chance of capturing, cicada’s are very
fast, but to my delight soon realized that I could… where began my fascination for those small wonders 🙂

P.S If you are curious no, I have never squashed a fly just the idea repulses me 🙂

A memorable day in Sounds of Nature – Waterfall #1 (my first Youtube video ever!)

A memorable day in Sounds of Nature – Waterfall # 1

Published on Aug 18, 2013
I’m proud to present to you my first video on Youtube. I hope you like it. POSITIVE feedback is always welcome. Enjoy!

I can’t believe it…I have finally published my first video on nature in You tube. Let’s be honest, I would’ve never managed it on my own. My very dear ones told me how it’s done 🙂
It is not yet thee perfect version (those two side bars are there because I held my camera the wrong way!) but I’m very happy with the result. The music comes from one of my favorites… Enya, which is soothing and a good counterbalance to the strong powerful cascading stream.
Water and its sounds have always fascinated me in the sense that it has such a soothing influence on the human behavior.
I hope you like and enjoy those short 6 minutes. Let me know what you think of it.

P.s I had to change the music as it was copyright and as a result we can’t hear the sounds of the waterfall which is very disappointing but there’s not much to be done besides being careful next time!
I had the same problem with photos in the beginnings of my blog and somehow I did not connect it this time to music, hence my mistake. I’ll have to find out how to download music the right way 🙂
