Facade versus culture influences

Architecture at its best!

A photo I dug up from my files which to me is the definition of architecture at its best.

Each country differentiates itself by their food, art and architecture, this is the facade

of a house in the suburbs of Sint-Moritz.

Preternatural lake

Just quickly posting an old picture dug out from our hard drive, taken in a time when Photoshop was still unknown to us so, the magical color you see of this high-altitude lake in the region of St-Moritz is real.
Passing with the train we were mesmerized by the difference in a regular lake and this one…
It had a lunar quality that we had never seen before.

I hope this shot captured its glow and the pull it had on us, endowing it on to you…

Best wishes for a wonderful summer!

Old coins & semi-precious stones…

He fondles them between his fingertips blindly sensing the clefts & burgeoning ends
Leaping gullies & cliffs tamping down the deluge escalating… sighing as the summer
Breeze guessing the brightness of the Tiger’s eyes, transparency of a Quartz, freshness
Of a dark blue sea Howlite & old (false:)) coins etched skillfully in history…

Desire to own unparalleled beauty, frenzy inundating his senses, rationality flying out
To mountain’s guts where stones are born wrenched from nature’s grip…
He who tries to capture the unattainable, for riches come & go, heritage too fetching
To compass too grand to retain but frozen into words to depict the memory of the chosen.

P.s I love stones & coins for a very long time, I feel each one has a lot to say.
I hope these photos and poem give credit to their beauty
P.P.s I got an answer on the “nameless stone” it’s an Agate! You can check the blogger who sent it in the comments bellow.

A life with a Calliope-September 1987-Lyrics-Adjusted January 2013

my calliope

This sketch I drew, is of a newborn baby that has become my Calliope 🙂

As you can observe throughout my posts, the poems composed in the 80’s
or 90’s are totally different to the ones of 2000… in the sense that
they are still searching “Life” and its meaning.

Let me know what you think of these Lyrics!

A life with a Calliope (1)
—————————-

You sing songs
Of happiness
Hum notes
Of joy
You rip
The curtain
Dividing
Our hearts
The mountain
That led
Us apart

Our throes
Too grim
To untangle
You hold
Firmly
On the morrow
But it is
All carbon
Hold my hand
Usher me
To your band

Coax me
To your song
The life
You belong
Expose
The sun
Toward it
We will run
Give me
Some hope
A life

With a Calliope (1)

(1)
In Greek mythology, Calliope (pron.: /kəˈlaɪ.əpiː/ kə-LY-ə-pee; Ancient Greek: Καλλιόπη Kalliopē “beautiful-voiced”) was the muse of epic poetry,[1]daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne, and is believed to be Homer’s muse, the inspiration for the Odyssey and the Iliad.[2]

Angeles Arrien: Archetypal Forms and Forces (excerpt) — Thinking Allowed DVD w/ Jeffrey Mishlove

This video is the type you can watch a few times and each time,
listen to it differently, appreciate the depth and meaning
of her words a little more.

I found it on another blog but as I follow quite a few brilliant
bloggers, if I don’t write down straight away its origin it gets
lost in the labyrinth of my brain, which was this time, the case 🙂

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Her way of explaining how
to get about creativity and how it happens, is just beautiful.

Have a lovely weekend!

NOTE: This is an excerpt from the two-part, 60-minute DVD.

Archetypal energies beckon us to live a larger life. We are all healers, warriors, visionaries and teachers — but often these potentials remain in latent form. Through song, dance, storytelling and meditation we can activate these archetypes.

Angeles Arrien, Ph.D., a cross-cultural anthropologist, is on the faculty of the California Institute of Integral Studies and the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. She is author of The Tarot Handbook, The Fourfold Way and Signs of Life.

St. Moritz-Will words, this time, do justice? ( poem in French in post above with here its English translation ) 2011

Oh! St. Moritz!

Oh! St. Moritz!

magic

magic

St. Moritz covered in white

St. Moritz covered in white

Hi everyone!

This poem took me eleven years to pluck up some semblance of courage and write.
Back then, I had the one and only opportunity to go up the mountains,
in the winter season and witness the marvels of nature in all its glory.
The experience never repeated itself, but the magic of the scenery stayed
engraved and kept coming back in flashes, I wanted to express it in poetry
but was afraid to spoil the grandeur of it all so, I kept waiting for THE
moment… I trusted and knew it would come. I’ll leave you to be the judge
of it…
I’ll first give you the translation and then put its original after, just for
the sake of not repeating over and over the same order 🙂 There goes…

St. Moritz
————-

When I took a stroll in your frozen lanes

Oh St. Moritz!

The sun shone on the freshly fallen flakes
Underlining its intact and pure form
All white and blinding, crunching under the impact
Of my footsteps and I exclaimed

Oh St. Moritz!

The trees bowed down majestically
Under the weight of this downy substance
Impassive to the magic of it’s environment
Witness of a lake streaming and freezing
Submissive at the fall of a shivery night

And I prayed, Oh St. Moritz!

During a month I inhabited your forest
Inviting me during hours, to walk
My companions were, silence and enchantment
for this plenitude from the wind
Blowing, blowing, through the trees, through the peaks

And my soul murmured, Oh St. Moritz!

Some, have trampled on you, others scorned,
Unconscious of the privilege granted, to this society
Blasé, escaping a too much of everything,
Yet, finding back these incessant noises
This tumult, its laws and taboos

By you Oh St. Moritz!

I, have cajoled you, dreamed and rocked you
Buried in the depths of my heart throughout these years
Hoping to marry the whole to a reality
To hear you whisper in my ears
Or roar while revealing your wonders

And I cried, Oh St. Moritz.

I hope you enjoyed it!
