A time for every rhyme & a smile for every flop :)

A time to yearn & a time to shine…
©copyright2015owpp

To everything the sun
Turn turn turns
Out of the shadows the moon
Shines bright & yearns

Seasons appear & fade
A time a place
For every matter under space

I have laughed & I have wept
Dark sour & sweet
Gathered shells & stones
Cast away broken bones

I have gained & lost
Bargained & pleaded
Sought & embraced

Only to realise…
There is a time
For every rhyme
A purpose for every weed

A seed for every tear
A castle for every brick
A sea for every drop &…

A smile for every flop 🙂

Treasure hunting for the crown’s jewels

To me, the sea, mountains & its creatures living on premises are the crown’s jewels & when we go out there, I like hunting with my loved ones bringing back a testimony to share with all of you the extraordinary every day miracles of a planet we tend to take for granted because we have it & see it on a daily basis.
I’ve got a collection of seventeen photos which I carefully selected including some of the every day occurrence to put you in the ambiance of the unusually sunny, windless shores two days ago!
I hope you’ll enjoy this post too 🙂

My “Bonfire” painting from sketch to canvas & still growing…

Done! ©copyright2014owpp

Done!
©copyright2014owpp

I promised a while back that I would slow down on my blog to work on painting among others & would let you know about the progress so, here is one of the results!
Bonfire is a sketch I had made in 2011, my brush took over as it happens in few but special moments without my ever thinking of a bomb-fire & to my surprise that’s what unfolded in front of my eyes…
You can check here… https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/?s=Bomb-fire
Three years fast forward and I try & capture the magic of those colors on a 40/30 cm (11.8/15.7 inches) & aiming to go further in a much bigger size of 100/140 cm (39.3/55.1 inches)
Wish me luck 🙂
Here goes the process from 1st layer to last…

The magic of Burano

A mirage of an hour, a day... ©copyright2014owpp

A mirage of an hour, a day…
©copyright2014owpp

It is hard to sustain enthusiasm when speaking of Burano
A flood of memories inundate everyday realities…
Preferring to fly back in time & resuscitate the
Mirage of a second, an hour or a day rather
Than seeing our rainbows after the storm or
Lift our gaze to the stars in our skies…

P.S
You gather from these few lines the wonderful time we had in Burano a while back, a village of fishermen & laces, which was enhanced by the encounter of a renowned painted Carlo Memo that inspired me to describe this unique day through poetry.
You can check it here https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/2013/06/24/burano-carlo-memo-memories-of-an-encounter-24-6-2013/

Burano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy; like Venice itself, it could more correctly be called an archipelago of four islands linked by bridges. It is situated near Torcello at the northern end of the Lagoon, and is known for its lacework and brightly coloured homes.

Through noise do we decipher silence

Reading silence ©copyright2014owpp

Reading silence
©copyright2014owpp

Through noise do we read silence & through gaps do we decipher noise
As from the pulsating beat of a song
The distant train whizzing through time
Lightning slicing through thunderous
Clouds amidst rumbling nature
The woodpecker’s frenzy
One wave to another
Echoes of footsteps
Stillness crackles as dry wood in a camp fire spitting sparks in irregular
Heartbeats bridging the gaps & the noise in a harmonious breathing exercise.

No Arms, No Legs, No Worries Mate – Nick Vujicic is Awesome Mate =)

This is a most inspirational video I had seen a while ago. It was shown to me today in a even more inspiring & professional version (if that’s possible :)) which struck me to be so powerful that I thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea to post it even if you’ve already seen it… five minutes every morning will set you up for the day!
After watching it you will be pumped up with optimism!

No Arms, No Legs, No Worries Mate – Nick Vujicic is Awesome =)

http://www.attitudeisaltitude.com

Nick talks about the importance of parenting in early childhood and it’s significance in overcoming hopelessness. Willpower is a driving force for making our big dreams come true, but if we don’t get a miracle in life, we can always be a miracle to someone else.

Nick Vujicic was born in Australia to a Serbian immigrant family, with a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs. Most of his childhood he struggled with depression, and after a suicide attempt he decided to concentrate on what he did have instead on what he didn’t. He realized that his life story inspires many people.

It is us, it is earth… for we are one

Peeking between the cracks ©copyright2013owpp

Peeking between the cracks
©copyright2013owpp

We peek between the cracks of infinity & wonder how is it possible
To know the truth which others are strangers too?

We see the world as an untouched birthstone whereas some explore
Its potentials for profit.

We know it as a growing process nary a bleeding one. To love, cherish
& bless every single breath inspired, expired.

We want to live it not kill it so we can go on inhabiting this underestimated
Arcadia .

We have the greed to breathe & pass it on intact as a legacy to our children’s
Delight.

It is green it is pure,
It is blue it is clear,
It grows it flows,
It sings in the day & hums at night,
It cries & hurts enough in natural misfortunes
Without us adding our punch…
It pours love & offers hugs to the indebted,
It is consoling in sadness, rejoicing at birth,
Mostly, it is us, it is earth for we are one.
Born as one, die as one.

Let us not leave it tinted, poisoned by blinded stupidity nor give right
To nightmare’s prophecies but help the dream…

To stay as one.

P.s
I wrote this with a gushing heart & hopeful soul.
We are sitting on a fall, patching up a wounded & bruised
Planet nevertheless I wish that positivity is the message that
Transpires throughout.
