Plastic to Oil Fantastic OW2.0

I don’t have an inch to spare in this blog but this video I found at http://alarnarosegray.com/2013/10/18/plastics-postscript/ was too important to let it go by unnoticed. Take a look you’ll see what I mean!

The Japanese company Blest has developed one of the smallest and safest plastic-to-oil conversion machines out on the market today. It’s founder and CEO, Akinori Ito is passionate about using this machine to change the way people around the world think about their plastic trash. From solving our landfill and garbage disposal issues to reducing our oil dependancy on the Middle East, his machine may one day be in every household across Japan.
While holding up a bag of trash, he states, “It’s a waste to throw away, isn’t it? This is a treasure.”

Two very wise quotes!

Here are two very inspiring quotes, take a few seconds to absorb the depth of the words. The first one is wisdom in its pure form which is the characteristics of the Dalai Lama and the second makes you appreciate life doubly.
Enjoy πŸ™‚

Well it seems these quotes have gotten erased on my blog…so I’ll simply write them down myself here.

The Dalai Lama when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered “man. because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. and then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived”

β€œIf you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of the world. If you have money in your bank, your wallet, and some spare change, you are among 8% of the world’s wealthy. If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million people who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the agony of imprisonment or torture or the horrible pangs of starvation, you are luckier than 500 million people alive and suffering. If you can read this message, you are more fortunate than 3 billion people in the world who cannot read at all.”

The Bloomberg Commission: Giuseppe Penone: Spazio di Luce (Tree artist)

I can’t believe the serendipity! Full swing into my tree project I run smack into the article of a cultural magazine on an artist I hadn’t heard of before, Giuseppe Penone, who’s art is all around trees πŸ™‚
I then started to research on You tube for a video that meets the criteria of an interesting blog with a certain level of quality… The appropriate language… Short and stimulating so as to keep the attention of the viewers.
I came up with this and hope you’ll enjoy this unusual form of art.

Over the past 45 years, Italian artist Giuseppe Penone has examined our relationship to nature. For the latest Bloomberg Commission, he has created a twelve metre bronze cast of a tree, with a radiant gold-leaf interior, which spreads across the columned Whitechapel Gallery.
