This is a documentary worth persevering till the end, it is relaxing, hopeful, informative it shows us nature as interconnected. A unique network system, each one relying upon the other for its survival.
It teaches us the miracle of life in all forms, its delicate balance, the necessity & importance for every seemingly insignificant role played (by the word we have started to take too much for granted having heard it so often pronounced) in a perfectly designed Eco-system.

It is the most remarkable thing I have ever seen – and as a video camerman I have seen some pretty amazing things.

Like drivers on a freeway, starlings dont appear to mind having neighbors nearby on their sides—or above and below, for that matter—as long as they have open space ahead. That makes sense, since the presence of a clear path in the direction of travel minimizes the likelihood of collisions should the birds need to shift their course abruptly, as is likely when a falcon attacks. But whats really nifty about this spatial asymmetry is that the researchers have been able to use it to calculate the number of neighbors to which each starling pays close attention—a quantified elaboration of Pottss chorus line idea. By looking at correlations between the movements of neighboring starlings, they can show that each bird always pays attention to the same number of neighbors, whether theyre closer or farther away. How many neighbors is that? Six or seven, says Cavagna, who points out that starlings in flocks can almost always see many more nearby birds— but the number may be closely tied to birds cognitive ability.
The direction of the flock can be coordinated by each birds tracking six or seven other birds. Remarkable. This is a very different kind of cognitive skill.

I have asked a blogger that question already but I did not have photos to show.
They were hard to take as my macro is a very basic one but I got some good enough close ups for anyone to have an idea of what I’m talking about.
I tried red pepper juice with soap, vinegar cut with water but they all spoil the leaves which as you know takes a long time to grow.
These little guests come later when the plant has finally had time to grow and you to have become very fond of them.
Anyone with an idea that works without any damage will be gratefully welcomed on this blog and who knows, we might help others in the process 😉
This is a most spectacular three part video series I have ever seen and couldn’t wait to share with all of you.
I find them very relaxing in the sense that it transports the viewer to a totally different world and dimension which is the kingdom of animals in South Africa where Kevin Richardson rules as a master in their language and practically an equal in a lion’s pride.

Lions – some of the most dangerous animals known to society. BUT there is one man who is part of their pride. Kevin Richardson, an outdoorsman who lives just 30 miles north of Johannesburg, has an amazing ability to communicate with some of Africas most feared predators.
