Run run dark beauty…

horses-sketch

This poem is dedicated to all those who have overcome adversity & climbed higher than humanly possible.
The photo is the sketch of a project I am busy with. Horses are my passion & I might have gotten stuck with this longer than I should for fear of not giving justice to this magnificent animal & the tremendous power exuding from it.
Keep warm! Hope you enjoy the poem. Feedback is always very welcome 🙂

Run run my race horse over the fences, hedges & highest walls, take leaps,
skip over rivers, mane blowing in the winds, undeterred… nothing stopping you.

Run run my stallion, spread the energy, black shining coat glistening under the effort
of raw power. Long gone are your days of uncertainty, battles over frail beginnings.

Run run dark beauty, never be afraid of winning, fly & never turn back, you were a
conqueror at your first faltering steps…

Run run my baby, I will celebrate your victories, as close to my heart,
as bright as the stars, as magical as your existence.

Sleep sleep my foal you’ve earned the miracle of tomorrow!

Turbulences soon coming up in bigger version… & opening of new online shop at Saatchi Art

Turbulences

Proudly presenting…
Turbulences. 30/30cm 3.1/2 cm deep.
Forces of nature always fascinated me, tornadoes are one of them.
A demonstration of raw power par excellence.
Having said that I’d rather stick to my canvas than approaching one of them.

Please scroll down for close ups…
Notice the movement & metallic colors used to convey the electrifying energy emanating from
a stormy atmosphere.
Extra strong gel medium was used to produce the relief.

Having had a good feedback on this small version, my next project will be a much bigger one…

Thank you all so much for your continual support.
Your visits, likes & comments are most valuable to me!

I want to take this opportunity to announce the opening of my new online shop on Saatchi Art (I encountered too many technical difficulties on Etsy when they lately changed their rules)
Will keep you updated as soon as I have the time to feed my account with photos of my painting collections.

Treasure hunting for the crown’s jewels

The crown's jewels ©copyright2014owpp

The crown’s jewels
©copyright2014owpp

To me, the sea, mountains & its creatures living on premises are the crown’s jewels & when we go out there, I like hunting with my loved ones bringing back a testimony to share with all of you the extraordinary every day miracles of a planet we tend to take for granted because we have it & see it on a daily basis.
I’ve got a collection of seventeen photos which I carefully selected including some of the every day occurrence to put you in the ambiance of the unusually sunny, windless shores two days ago!
I hope you’ll enjoy this post too 🙂

Nature’s display of perfection

Can you guess?©copyright2014owpp

Can you guess?©copyright2014owpp

This time round I tried to pique your curiosity by posting first the close up & wonder if you have recognized what it is.
I received this arrangement & was fascinated by the shape of that one… see next picture to understand 😉 so I took a few close-ups in the hope that you’ll identify it & enlighten me with its name.
Enjoy the next ones too!

P.S http://bloomlisa.com/ suggested below in the comment section that it might be a Waratah which I Googled for images & searched for info in Wikipedia.
Here’s what they say…

Waratah (Telopea) is an endemic, Australian genus of five species of large shrubs or small trees, native to the southeastern parts of Australia (New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania). The most well-known species in this genus is Telopea speciosissima, which has bright red flowers and is the NSW state emblem. The waratah is a member of the plant family Proteaceae, a family of flowering plants distributed in the Southern Hemisphere. The key diagnostic feature of Proteaceae is the inflorescence, which is often very large, brightly coloured and showy, consisting of many small flowers densely packed into a compact head or spike. Species of waratah boast such inflorescences ranging from 6–15 cm in diameter with a basal ring of coloured bracts. The leaves are spirally arranged, 10–20 cm long and 2–3 cm broad with entire or serrated margins. The name waratah comes from the Eora Aboriginal people, the original inhabitants of the Sydney area.

Thank you Lisa for the effort, it’s very much appreciated 🙂

Preternatural lake

©copyright2014owpp

©copyright2014owpp

Just quickly posting an old picture dug out from our hard drive, taken in a time when Photoshop was still unknown to us so, the magical color you see of this high-altitude lake in the region of St-Moritz is real.
Passing with the train we were mesmerized by the difference in a regular lake and this one…
It had a lunar quality that we had never seen before.

I hope this shot captured its glow and the pull it had on us, endowing it on to you…

Best wishes for a wonderful summer!

Floating in a Fuchsia world

Oh! Exquisite rose! ©copyright2014owpp

Oh! Exquisite rose!
©copyright2014owpp

Today, I want to share this exquisite Fuchsia rose that was given to me when I had accidentally dressed the table with what do you know… yes, a Fuchsia tablecloth.
It gave me the perfect background.
Following for nearly two years very talented photographers on WordPress gave me the right angles for perfect shots.
I work with what I consider a basic camera which is a Canon digital IXUS 95 IS but following the advice of a blogger I exploited to a maximum its potential & come up with quite good results but,

I’ll let you judge for yourselves these close-ups in the hope that it’ll greet pleasantly your eyes 🙂

Nameless mountain flower

Temporary namelessness :) ©copyright2014owpp

Temporary namelessness 🙂
©copyright2014owpp

Many years ago I found this flower on a stroll in the surrounding mountains of Celerina-Switzerland which fascinated me by its unique chiffon appearance.
Having searched on the internet & thinking it was a Drosanthemum floribundum – Pale Dewplant I realized the leaves did not match… it remains nameless until one of you recognizes it 🙂
