Hi everyone!
I couldn’t believe five whole years have gone by since I started this blog.
Forgive my absence.
Lately I have been having computer issues and couldn’t keep you updated with my work, the exhibition, my photography…
But I promise to start posting again as soon as it’s all fixed.
Only then will I feel entitled to fully celebrate this milestone čÖé
Best of luck to all my faithful followers and visitors and best wishes for a safe and warm winter!

An invitation to the opening of my exhibition in Leiden Netherlands

I am delighted to announce to all my faithful followers and visitors of the WordPress community the opening of my solo exhibition in Leiden Netherlands at the gallery Z├┤ne. Nieuwestraat 17b.
Come along with family and friends and discover my works for the first time, the entrance is free and there will be beverages and snacks for the occasion.
The opening will be on the 2nd of July from 2pm to 4pm and the paintings will be exposed during the whole month of July.
Leiden is a charming Dutch touristic city that you can put on your list for this summer.
To quote the first two paragraphs of Wikipedia…
Leiden (/╦łla╔¬d╔Ön/; Dutch pronunciation: [╦łl╔Ťi╠».d╔Ö(n)] (About this sound listen); in English and archaic Dutch also Leyden) is a city and municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. The municipality of Leiden has a population of 122,915, but the city forms one densely connected agglomeration with its suburbs Oegstgeest, Leiderdorp, Voorschoten and Zoeterwoude with 206,647 inhabitants. The Netherlands Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) further includes Katwijk in the agglomeration which makes the total population of the Leiden urban agglomeration 270,879, and in the larger Leiden urban area also Teylingen, Noordwijk, and Noordwijkerhout are included with in total 348,868 inhabitants. Leiden is located on the Oude Rijn, at a distance of some 20 kilometres (12 miles) from The Hague to its south and some 40 km (25 mi) from Amsterdam to its north. The recreational area of the Kaag Lakes (Kagerplassen) lies just to the northeast of Leiden.
A university city since 1575, Leiden houses Leiden University, the oldest university of the Netherlands, and Leiden University Medical Center. Leiden is a city with a rich cultural heritage, not only in science, but also in the arts. One of the world’s most famous painters, Rembrandt, was born and educated in Leiden. Other famous Leiden painters include Lucas van Leyden, Jan van Goyen and Jan van Steen. The city has been one of Europe’s most prominent scientific centres for more than four centuries. Modern scientific medical research and teaching started in the early 18th century in Leiden with Boerhaave. Many important scientific discoveries have been made here, giving rise to LeidenÔÇÖs motto: ÔÇśCity of DiscoveriesÔÇÖ.
Leiden University is one of EuropeÔÇÖs top universities, it boasts thirteen Nobel Prize winners, it is a member of the League of European Research Universities and positioned highly in all international academic rankings. It is twinned with Oxford, the location of the United Kingdom’s oldest university. Leiden University and Leiden University of Applied Sciences (Leidse Hogeschool) together have around 35,000 students. Leiden is a typical university city, university buildings are scattered throughout the city and the many students from all over the world give the city a bustling, vivid and international atmosphere.

Sunset after storm finally finished!

Sunset after storm

Sunset after storm

An ongoing process, that is until now.
One of the biggest project I ever was busy with, split in to four canvases.
It is longer than a comfortable three seater couch.
Will post it again later once it has found its niche.
A sunset I experienced a while back when least expected.
The day was stormy and rainy from the word go.
When it approached to its end, I had given up on any flamboyant ending but it took me by surprise,
the sky cleared a tiny space up, the sun ripped it further open and boasted a most spectacular as short,
entrance and exit I can ever remember.
Which shows that things can turn for the better at any moment…
Not always does it go with logic.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce the grand opening of my Etsy shop.
Your visits would be very much appreciated.
Let the word go round our amazing community.
For the past few months things have been quite hectic & (even though I have mentioned it before)
I have much less time to go to my reader.
My apologies for that with the promise to try my best, to go there every so often…
Wishing all of you a perfect gratifying week!

Bonfire 4 Finally complete 100/160cm

Bonfire 4 100-160m. 19.10.2015-a-1-

This is (most probably) the last of the four Bonfires in this collection.
I went bigger with this canvas (twenty centimeters taller than the previous one).
What I like with painting is that each project of the same theme is unique in its own right.
I never let go of my paintings until I am so complete & happy with it they become my babies čśë
How do you compare them & which one is your favorite?
You can check it here…
I believe we all thrive on feedback so feel free to comment!

My excuses for making myself so rare on WordPress for the “reader” as much as for the posts, I have just been sick with flue twice, painted nearly full time (will keep you updated once they are completed, for the moment I’m filing their progress for you) & have been very hectic in between too.
As soon as things boil down to a “simmering” routine I hope to be able to get back to things as before.
