“Light’s victory” is a painting I started in 2012 a work in progress until I decided to finish it today.
Sometimes paintings need to be set aside in order to see which direction you want to take with it, that’s what happened to this one.
My bold strokes were influenced by Monet’s softer & more subtle style nevertheless it’s his works that brought the results in mine.
It’s Acrylic paint on a canvas of 75 cm/115 cm = 30/45 inches
The theme goes precisely after its given name, light’s victory over darkness, it speaks about hope & stays faithful to the painting “Interaction & influences” philosophy which I used as my header.
See… https://oawritingspoemspaintings.wordpress.com/2012/12/20/interaction-and-influences-2012/
Not only do we influence our neighbors & surroundings in all manners (our choice & responsibility to use it positively & not negatively) light always prevails, truth always shines through in the end.
Here are the stages of my painting, enjoy & best wishes to all of you for a warm & healthy winter!

  1. Lovely! I have several that still need finishing and I am glad to hear other people may take a few years to do so 🙂

    • Oh I didn’t know you painted! You are truly multi talented! My paintings usually simmer while I’m busy with other canvases, that way I can see thanks to a bit of distance, where I want it to go…
It does me a world of good too when I see others doing the things (in many other things as well) I feel sometimes guilty about by wrongly judging & believing my indulging in procrastination when actually time is sometimes just what one needs for ones painting’s completion 🙂
Good luck with it, when the time is right that’s when everything unfolds, just let it take it’s own course…

      • I paint but then lack the confidence to finish it ok…So I stick them away for one day in the future when I might have it 🙂 I look at them and see what I want to do but when I start I panic. It’s a weird thing but I will get over it one day 🙂

      • Gosh! This is so weird, you described me word for word… I started painting about seven years ago nearly eight, with a teacher, precisely for that reason… I panicked, she was a life saver, she built my self-confidence throughout, I still ask her advice & need her guidance for some of my works but I’m getting there, with time passing by, I get more & more independent, it’s truly therapeutic it gives me the feeling that if I want something badly enough, everything is possible 🙂

      • Yes, absolutely everything is possible. Its great you got a teacher and I know I really should take the time to do so or go to classes. Good on you 🙂 🙂

      • Thanks & good luck to you too 🙂
