Butterfly rescue

Strolling along the sea our eyes were caught by
Your struggle with sand and foam flapping uselessly
Your altered colored wings…we then gently held
Them between our thumb & index to place you under
The protection of the dunes where you clung to the
Dry weeds grasping with all your might succeeding
To flap your wings once again rendering your freedom

And ours…

    • Totally fine! It was actually our son who had noticed it struggling, I thanked him later for that… I was amazed how a small gesture can make such a huge difference, it was the highlight of our long walk.
      Thanks for the feedback 🙂

    • It was completely unexpected, we didn’t think there was much we could do until we came up with the idea of delicately lifting it by its wings and moving it to the protection of the dunes which as you read gave it to our surprise & delight a new lease!
      Thanks for the feedback 🙂
