My potato experiment!

Do you remember the time I had written a humoristic poem on the weird sprouted potatoes I had forgotten in my balcony for two months? (I still have to work on my photography category & insert the photos back in!) well, my potato plant experiment finally ended a few weeks ago & I decided to share the happiness & pride in my labor with you today… bear in mind that it was grown in a pot, I “babysat” it indoors once the cold settled in and not even organic fertilizers were used all along 🙂

It was more for the fun than the quantity gained (which wasn’t much) my grandchildren & I had a ball of a time guessing… creating suspense & wondering if anything had come out of it, for all we knew there could’ve been nothing under! The thrill of the surprise was one of these special moments we cherish deep inside for a long time…

  4. I had a similar adventure with rotting tomatoes thrown into a flowerpot – they grew without asking permission, flowered and got fruit, my grandson has eaten it.

  6. A good looking crop. Bet they were tasty. My family farmed some potatoes – for us – when I was a teen. We had enough to last the winter. It was one of the few crops we grew. Tomatoes, too. Nothing better than fresh spuds, fruits and veggies. 😉

  9. Brilliant, we should never give up on anything… And its surprising how many potatoes we missed from digging up last year, that have re-spouted and come up in the cabbage patch this year giving us a similar yield as your special potato…
We have many potatoes some huge ones and if you have not visited my Allotment Gallery you can see some of our crop here http://wp.me/P16xW7-Nn
